Question 1

How do I order currency online?

Accepted Answer

Use the converter on our website to select your currency and enter the amount you need. Choose your fulfilment method (home delivery or click and collect), add to basket, and complete checkout. You'll receive an order confirmation by email.

Question 2

What's the minimum and maximum order?

Accepted Answer

Minimum order values depend on your delivery method. Checkout checks the applicable minimum before you place your order. There's no hard maximum — for very large orders (£10,000+) we'd ask you to call us on 0207 240 9921 so we can ensure availability and discuss rates. Large orders may also require identity verification under our HMRC Money Service Business obligations.

Question 3

How does home delivery work?

Accepted Answer

We dispatch all home deliveries by Royal Mail Special Delivery. Choose an available delivery date at checkout; the dates offered depend on your currencies and payment method. Your currency requires a signature on delivery. Delivery is free on orders over £1,000; £10 otherwise.

Question 4

Which currencies do you stock?

Accepted Answer

We stock over 50 currencies. All major European currencies (Euro, Swiss Franc, Swedish Krona, Norwegian Krone, Danish Krone, Polish Zloty), Americas (US Dollar, Canadian Dollar, Mexican Peso, Brazilian Real), Asia Pacific (Japanese Yen, Thai Baht, Singapore Dollar, Australian Dollar, New Zealand Dollar, Hong Kong Dollar), Middle East (UAE Dirham), and many more. Check our full list on the Exchange Rates page or call us.

Question 5

Can I request specific denominations?

Accepted Answer

We always provide a mix of notes with every order, and for small requests we'll always try to accommodate. If you need guaranteed denominations — for example, plenty of ¥1,000 notes for Japan or $1 bills for US tipping — you can add a denomination guarantee as a paid add-on to your order. Call us on 0207 240 9921 or leave a note at checkout.

Question 6

What payment methods do you accept?

Accepted Answer

Online orders: we accept major credit and debit cards. In-store: card and cash. Bank transfer is available for large orders — call us to arrange. We do not accept cryptocurrency.

Question 7

How do I sell my leftover currency back?

Accepted Answer

Either visit us at 30 Jubilee Market Hall in Covent Garden, or post your currency to us by Royal Mail Special Delivery. Check the rate using the converter on our Sell Currency page, then bring or post your notes. Postal buyback payments are typically made within two working days after receipt and verification.

Question 8

Are your rates the same online and in-store?

Accepted Answer

Online rates differ from shop rates. Check the current online rate before ordering, or ask our counter team for an in-store quote. To get online rates with the convenience of in-store collection, use our click and collect option — order and pay online, then pick up from our Covent Garden shop.

Question 9

Are you regulated?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Covent Garden FX Limited is registered with HMRC as a Money Service Business, registration number XJML00000169400. We comply with all UK anti-money laundering regulations. For larger transactions we may request identification and source of funds documentation — this is a legal requirement.

Question 10

What if my delivery is late or my order is wrong?

Accepted Answer

Call us immediately on 0207 240 9921 or email us. For delivery issues we'll investigate with Royal Mail. For any errors in your order — wrong currency, wrong amount, wrong denominations — we'll resolve it at no cost to you. We stand behind every order.

Question 11

Do you offer better rates for large orders?

Accepted Answer

Yes. For orders over £5,000 equivalent we can often offer improved rates. Call us on 0207 240 9921 to discuss. We work with many local businesses, hotels, and corporate clients on this basis.

Question 12

Can I cancel or amend my order?

Accepted Answer

Orders can be cancelled or amended before dispatch. Call us as soon as possible on 0207 240 9921 or email us with your order number. Once an order has been dispatched for delivery, we cannot cancel it — you would need to return the currency for a buy-back.
